Wade and Canning can inspire U.21s

Galway come in ‘cold’ against the Rebels
Rarely has success at U-21 level seemed as important to Galway hurling as this year, with the county side poised to begin their 2007 campaign with an All-Ireland semi-final showdown against Cork at Semple Stadium, Thurles, on Saturday (3.30 p.m.).
With Ger Loughnane set to favour youth over experience next year, the game offers a timely chance for John Lee, Ger Mahon, and Kerril Wade to put a disappointing year at senior level behind them.
In the wake of the minors’ poorest campaign in a decade, after years of unprecedented success at U-18 level, and a demoralising defeat for the Intermediates, this is a key game for the county’s self-esteem.
