Patches sails to 3rd place in Portugal
August 28, 2007 - 1:38pmPATCHES, the Galway owned TP52, finished third overall in the Trofeo de Portugal after sailing was cancelled due to no wind for the second day in succession.
The Trofeo de Portugal is one of six regattas in the Breitling MedCup series and this means that Patches is lying fourth in the series with one regatta to go in Hyeres, France in September.
Speaking after Sunday’s cancellation, Patches owner Eamon Conneely said: “We would have been a lot happier if we had had racing today but that’s how it goes. “It’s been a very good week, a very enjoyable week, especially the first day where we had three races in twenty five knots of breeze that was pretty fantastic.
“We were hoping we might get more wind, but unfortunately it didn’t work out that way. But…..
