Junior Boxing Finals
HAVING reached the final of the Open Junior Championships in Dublin last Saturday night, Sixteen year old Monivea boxer Kieran Forde was unlucky to be beaten on a score of 4-1 by Fergus McCrory (Clonoe, Ulster).
Nineteen boxers weighed in Forde’s division and the Galway fighter produced three impressive wins on his way to the final. Junior High Performance coach Jim Moore has now invited Forde to take part in training with the National Junior panel, a just reward for his hard work and dedication.
In the interim, Forde will be the top attraction in the County Boys and Youth Championships which will be held in the Galway Boxing Club, Westside, this Saturday and Sunday, 6th and 7th February.
