CONCERN IN TURLOUGHMORE OVER POSSIBLE QUARRY PLANS

March 10, 2010 - 4:21pm

Concern is mounting in Turloughmore that a quarry is about to be applied for in the Grange East area.

Residents held a meeting in the area this week and are preparing to block any attempt to open a quarry there.

Minister Eamon Ó'Cuiv and Deputy Noel Grealish were joined by Councillors Jim Cuddy and Malachy Noone at the public meeting.

No planning application has been submitted yet but locals fear plans are in the pipeline.
