MAY TRIAL DATE FOR TRYING TO EXTORT MONEY FROM COUNTY COUNCILLOR

The trial of a man charged with attempting to extort €5,000 from Cllr Michael Fahy has been set down for hearing in May.

Patrick Walsh of 117 Friar’s Hill, is charged with attempting to steal €5,000 from Cllr Fahy on the pretence that he had phone recordings which would be beneficial to councillor Fahy’s appeal before the Court of Criminal .

The offence allegedly occurred at various locations between December 24, 2008 and April 6, 2009.
