JUDGE MAKES FINAL COMMENTS BEFORE SENTENCING IN LACKAGH RAID CASE
March 12, 2010 - 3:23pmJudge Raymond Groarke is making his final comments before he passes sentence in the case of a raid on a home in Lackagh.
A victim impact statement was read out at Galway Circuit Criminal Court this afternoon by Julian Flynn.
Mr Flynn is a prominent Lackagh businessman who was held up by a gang of armed raiders at his home on Sunday February 15th 2009.
The three Dublin men involved will be sentenced shortly.
Thomas Freeman (54) from Clondalkin Dublin 2 has been in custody since his arrest after the incident on February 15th last year.
His co-accused Greg Kelly (22) of Ballymun, Dublin and Michael McCormack (32) from Tallaght Dublin, pleaded guilty last November to the false imprisonment of the Flynn family and others and the theft of €3,200 from Emma Flynn.
