Ballybane project bears fruit

Organic garden a success
A celebration of the work of the participants in the Ballybane Community Organic Garden, located opposite Ballybane Church, took place on Thursday in unseasonable sunshine.
The Mayor, Cllr Tom Costello, met with the participants of the project and sampled some of the food grown there. Residents from the local community and children from the local crèche also joined in the celebrations.
The community organic garden was set up as part of the Galway Healthy Cities project in 2006. Key partners involved in the project include Ballybane Community Development Project, City Council, RAPID, HSE West, NUIG, Galway City VEC and GMIT.
