BOGLAND COULD DELAY NEW SCHOOL FOR CLIFDEN

September 9, 2010 - 8:12am

A large area of bogland, that has environmental designations, may create difficulties in the planning process for the proposed new Community School in Clifden.

The planning section of Galway County Council has asked for a report on the effect the new school would have on the Roundstone Bog.

It has indicated that EU rules might have to be used in assessing the situation.
