PHILIPPINES AMBASSADOR VISITS GALWAY TO PROMOTE TRADE RELATIONS

The Philippines ambassador in Ireland will visit the city today with the aim of improving trade between Galway and the vast Asian country

Last year the Philippines was worth 165 million euro in exports from Ireland

Ambassador Areil Y Abadilla and Consul General Joy Quintana will speak with representatives of SSL Logistics.

The pair are also meeting with the Galway Chamber to discuss the possibilities of the Phillipines olympics team staying in Galway before London 2012.

Later today, they will tour the Marine Institute in Oranmore.

City Councillor Neil McNeilis, who organised the visit says it's a great opportunity for tourism and trade in Galway.
