The Amazing Apples for Monroe's
January 27, 2012 - 7:00amLocal band The Amazing Apples will play Monroe’s this Friday night.
This rising Galway group started off as cover band in Christmas 2007. Having previously together played in different bands, Darragh, Cian and Brian discovered an instant musical connection when they got Anthony Ryan to step in and play lead guitar. During 2008 they got accomplished traditional fiddle player Eanna Fahy to join in, and their music became more varied with a new distinct Irish flavour.
The band have since been gigging non-stop all over Ireland and have played support to artists such as Sharon Shannon and Mundy. Their versatile repertoire includes classic favourites from The Beatles, Johnny Cash and Thin Lizzy, as well as from The Saw Doctors, Horslips and Sharon Shannon.
As well a few jigs and reels, their shows also includes modern tunes from The Killers, Kings of Leon, and Mumford and Sons
The Amazing Apples have been making waves by winning competitions and winning over audiences in the last few months and their show in Monroe’s promises to be a wonderful, feel-good night out.
Doors 10pm, Admission €10 (€7 Members).
