TWO REMANDED IN CUSTODY CHARGED WITH OUGHTERARD MANSLAUGHTER
February 3, 2012 - 2:19pmA Romanian man and a Romanian youth charged with manslaughter and withholding information regarding the killing of Oughterard man John Kenny have been remanded in custody.
36 year old Marian Lingurar with an address in Cork city and a 17 year old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, appeared before a special sitting of Galway District Court.
56 year old John Kenny was found dead with his hands tied behind his back at his pub in Main Street in Oughterard on the 25th September last year.
At Galway District Court, Judge John Lindsay refused bail for both men following objections by gardai that they posed a flight risk due to the seriousness of the charges.
The 36 year old has now been remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court next Friday.
The youth, aged 17, was remanded to appear before Galway District Court next Wednesday.
