CITY TO HOST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SEXUAL VIOLENCE
February 4, 2012 - 6:36pmA major international conference on survivors of rape is to be hosted in the city in November.
Up to 600 international experts will attend the three day event in areas including medicine, advocacy, law, psychotherapy and policy formation.
The multidisciplinary event is organised by Rape Crisis Network Ireland which is headquartered in Quay Street in the city.
The conference takes place in NUI Galway from the 8th to the 10th of November.
Cliona Saidlear of the RCNI says the event is a key platform for global learning and will also benefit the local economy.
