HIGH COURT TO HEAR GALWAY STUDENTS' CASE

A case taken by two Galway students and a student at Dundalk Institute of Technology will be heard in the High Court tomorrow. [23/2]

The students, supported by the Union of Students in Ireland, want cuts to the Higher Education Maintenance Grant reversed.

One student is 3rd year female from Clare attending NUIG, whose grant was cut by almost 4 thousand euro following the last Budget.

The second student is a 2nd year County Galway female mature student who's a parent attending Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.

Her grant was cut by almost 2 and a half thousand euro.

The third student from Dundalk I.T had his grant cut by 3 thousand 700 euro.
