A Galway TD is calling on Rehab Enterprises to rehire staff made redundant in the city earlier this year after the company unveiled a major jobs announcement this week.
The Rehab Group is to create 400 positions around the country in the next three years.
It already employs 3-thousand-500 people here and in the UK, Poland and the Netherlands.
The new posts will be in training, education, health and social care, IT, sales and marketing, management and administration.
Galway West TD Noel Grealish has called on Rehab to give priority to the 14 staff made redundant at the company's Parkmore recycling division earlier this year.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, he says he hopes to meet with Senior Management at Rehab next week to discuss his proposal.
