EMERGENCY SERVICES BATTLE CONNEMARA GORSE FIRE
May 26, 2012 - 5:30pmEmergency services are battling a gorse fire outside Maam Cross in Connemara this evening [5pm].
Gardai were alerted to the incident in the Seanakilla bogland at around 3.45 this afternoon.
Fire services are currently at the scene about a mile and a half the Clifden side of Maam Cross.
The blaze has generated substantial smoke, however no road closures are in place at present.
