COUNTY MAYOR TO MARK WEEK OF WELCOMES
June 23, 2012 - 1:51pmMayor of Galway, Thomas Welby, will welcome diaspora from all over the world at a function in Gort tommorow. (24/06)
It's to mark the start of the 20-12 week of welcomes in South East Galway, organised by the Ireland reaching out programme.
The event, which runs from this Sunday to Saturday 30th June, is organised by the parishes, and will include events such as trips to Aughrim, Coole park and Clonmacnoise.
It begins tommorow with a welcome reception in the Lady Gregory hotel in Gort.
On Monday, the group of 30 will travel to county council buildings in the city for a mayoral reception.
Mayor Thomas Welby says the week of welcomes will bring a tourism boost to the Galway region
