REVERSE THE RENT CAMPAIGN TO HIGHLIGHT 'UNFAIR' THRESHOLDS IN GALWAY
June 29, 2012 - 8:20amThe 'reverse the rent cap' campaign group will attempt to meet with the Minister for social protection in Galway today.
They want to highlight what they call 'unfair, unjust and short-sighted' decreased rent thresholds being imposed on rent supplement recipients.
There are over 4 thousand 400 people getting rent supplement across the city and county.
New maximum rent limits came into effect on January 1 but they are expected to be reviewed in the coming weeks.
Minister Joan Burton is in Galway will officially open the employment and advice fair taking place in the Volvo global village at 7pm.
