VOLVO OCEAN RACE FESTIVITIES BEGIN
The Volvo Ocean Race festival has officially gotten underway in Galway.
Over 100-thousand people are expected to visit the county this weekend, as the world's most famous ocean race draws closer to the finish line.
The boats are expected to hit Galway Port on either Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore has officially opened the Global Village at South Park .
