COUNCIL TO REVERSE ORANMORE ONE-WAY SYSTEM
A one-way system in Oranmore which was implemented as part of the town's traffic management plan is to be reversed to its original design.
The road at the old school house was changed to one-way in April as part of the Oranmore traffic management plan.
It has since been met with huge opposition from locals and motorists who have complained of long traffic delays and safety concerns.
Local area Cllr Jim Cuddy says an agreement has now been reached with Senior Engineers to go back to the old two-way design.
This will involve a six week consultation process.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Cllr Cuddy says he is pushing to have the work completed before the schools reconvene in September.
