CONSTRUCTIVE MEETING BETWEEN IRISH RAIL AND SENATOR HEALY EAMES
July 24, 2012 - 4:25pmToday's meeting between Senator Fidelma Healy Eames and Irish Rail Officials has been branded "constructive" by the company.
Iarnrod Eireann has confirmed it will examine claims of "inconsistencies" within the ticketing system.
Earlier this month (12/7) Senator Healy Eames was given a 100 euro fine when she boarded a train at Athenry without a ticket as she believed it was possible to purchase a ticket on board as she had previously done.
The chairman and chief executive of Iarnrod Eireann were present at the meeting in Lenister House organised by the Senator today
The company's policy on revenue protection was discussed.
Corporate Communication Manager Barry Kenny says while the Senator's personal fine was not the focus of the meeting that matter has been concluded.
Senator Healy Eames has not been available for comment on the meeting.
