A spokesperson for the Respond Housing Association has expressed concern over a potential housing crisis in Galway.

Paul Hargaden Regional Manager West says that while there is an excess of housing in Ireland it is lacking in the services needed such as schools and shops to build sustainable communities.

Speaking at the 30th anniversary of the charity, from its HQ in Oranmore Mr Hargaden says the demand for housing continues but there is not enough appropriate housing available.
