TWO MEN HOSPITALISED FOLLOWED CARNA POWERLINE ACCIDENT
August 18, 2012 - 1:59pmTwo men were taken to University Hospital Galway last night [Aug 17] following a powerline accident in the Carna area.
It's understood the local men were travelling in a jeep and towing a trailer when the incident occurred shortly before 9pm.
The accident happened in Duibhithir when the steel mast of a sailboat being towed made contact with an overhead line.
This led to the driver and passenger both receiving electric shock injuries as they left the vehicle.
Emergency services were then called and both men were taken to UHG.
