Tribute to American music legends at Town Hall
September 28, 2012 - 7:00amThe songs of American legends such as Sam Cooke, Led Belly, Elvis Presley, Jackie Wilson, Chuck Berry, and more will be given an airing in the Town Hall on Monday next, October 1 when 4 Men and a Bass bring their show American Greats to the venue.
Describing themselves as ‘the most original covers band you are likely to hear’, the sound 4 Men and a Bass make comes from fusing rock & roll, soul, country, bluegrass and blues. On the night the band will be joined by a full brass section and electric guitars to make it a nine piece band for this very special show.
Collectively the band have performed and shared stages with acts such as Kenny Rodgers, Shane McGowan, The Saw Doctors, Gerry Fish, Jack-L, Eleanor Shanley, Donal Lunny and Sharon Shannon to name a few.
They have featured frequently as part of the Sharon Shannon band and have even performed for president Michael D. Higgins. The group 4 Men and a Bass are Niall Teague on piano and vocal, Pádraic Joyce on acoustic guitar and vocal, Kelvin Busher on double bass and vocals and Szymon Misniak on drums.
