ELDERLY MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL AFTER CANAL FALL
A man who was rescued from the canal on Dominick Street in the city last evening has died in hospital
The elderly man was seen entering the water at the lock gates behind the Roisín Dubh.
A passer by quickly alerted the emergency services who plucked the man from the water just before 5 o'clock last evening
Ambulance crew treated the man at the scene and took him to UCHG where he was critical overnight
However, a hospital spokesperson has confirmed the man died in hospital this morning
