BELCLARE MEETING TO OPPOSE PROPOSED MOBILE PHONE MAST
September 22, 2009 - 1:29pmA meeting to oppose a proposed phone mast takes place in Belclare tonight.
Mobile phone giant 3G is proposing to build the controversial mast north west of the junction of the N17 and the R333, and the site is an open field.
Locals say they are concerned about its proximity to a school and homes in the area.
This is the second time this month Galway homeowners have held meetings to oppose proposed Hutchinson 3G masts.
Earlier this month, large crowds gathered in Kiltormer to discuss their opposition to a proposed mast in Nwtowneyre.
The meeting will be held tonight in Belclare community centre at 8.30pm.
