A proposed visit by controversial historian and Holocaust revisionist David Irving to NUI Galway has been cancelled due to security concerns.

The Literary and Debating Society at NUIG had been liaising with Mr. Irving for several months regarding addressing the Society in a debate on the denial of the Holocaust.

However, after consulting with the University Authorities, the Lit and Deb Society have had to call off the event.
