CONNACHT TRIBUNE GROUP TO PUBLISH NEW IRISH NEWSPAPER
November 20, 2009 - 6:34pm
The Connacht Tribune Group and EO Teilifís have successfully bid to publish a new Irish Language weekly newspaper.
Foras na Gaeilge announced the successful bid today, following the collapse of 'Foinse' newspaper, which was based in Connemara.
Monéir Teo, which published Foinse for 13 years, turned down the offer to renew its contract last June.
The new newspaper, which will be called Gaelscéal, will be launched in 2010 and will also be accompanied by an interactive website.
