Bernadette Prendergast
Bernadette Prendergast is one of the longest serving Heads of News in Irish radio, having led and developed the news service at Galway Bay fm since 1989.
As vice-chairperson of the board of Learning Waves,the training body for the independent radio sector, Bernadette is a keen advocate of the need for continuous training for all broadcasters. A former secondary school teacher, and Speech and Drama instructor, she is the chief lecturer in broadcast journalism on the Masters in Journalism course at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
A news fanatic, Bernadette looks forward to bringing the day's news and compelling stories to Galway Bay fm's listeners across the city and county, every hour.
