Competitions – General Terms and Conditions

1.The Connacht Tribune, The Galway City Tribune, The Connacht Sentinel, Galway Bay FM and www.galwaynews.ie will be referred to in these general terms and conditions as “The Organiser”.
2.The Connacht Tribune, The Galway City Tribune, The Connacht Sentinel will be referred to collectively as “The Newspapers”.
3.From time to time competitions run by The Organiser may include prizes or promotions from third parties. Such a participant will be referred to in these general terms and conditions as “The Promoter”.
4.Different competitions may have their own specific terms and conditions for entry, and in such cases these will be clearly stated. Where there is a conflict between the following general terms and conditions and specific entry requirements for a particular competition the latter shall take precedence.
5.Employees of The Organiser, The Promoter, their immediate families and those associated with the competition are not eligible to enter.
6.Each competition will specify a method or methods of entry. Only the specified methods of entry may be used to enter each competition.
7.Where an entry form is printed in the Newspapers or on www.galwaynews.ie, then only original entry forms will be accepted. Photocopies will not be accepted.
8.All postal entries should be properly stamped and addressed to The Connacht Tribune, 15 Market Street, Galway or Galway Bay FM, Sandy Road, Galway as specified in the Competition, allowing sufficient time for postage. Entries may also be handed in to these addresses as appropriate.
9.email or SMS text entries should be sent to the email address or text number specified in the competition.
10.Incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified.
11.Proof of dispatch of an entry is not proof of delivery. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for any reason.
12.Entries received after the closing date specified in the competition will not be accepted. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the competition end date at any time.
13.By entering the competition the winner and all entrants agree to participate in such promotional activity and publicity material as The Organiser may require.
14.No entries will be returned and all entries once received will remain the property of The Organiser
15.Entry by SMS or email signifies acceptance of further communications from the Organiser about other competitions it may run
16.Winners may be selected at random from all correct entries received by the closing date or by a panel of judges using criteria established by The Organiser and The Promoter (if there is one) in advance.
17.The panel of judges will be selected by The Organiser and The Promoter and may consist of employees of either or both.
18.The judges’ decision will be final.
19.No correspondence will be entered into. Soliciting will disqualify.
20.Winners will be notified in person or by telephone.
21.The Organiser will endeavour to notify winners and present prizes within a month of the competition end date but cannot guarantee this.
22.Winners will be required to provide proof of identity prior to collection of prizes. This may be in the form of a voucher sent to the winner and/or photo identification and/or proof of address.
23.Details of the winner(s) of a particular competition can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope, marked with the name of the competition to The Connacht Tribune, 15 Market St, Galway or Galway Bay FM, Sandy Road, Galway as specified in the competition after the closing date.
24.No prize alternatives will be allowed unless otherwise stated.
25.The prize will not be transferable to another person.
26.No part of a prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize.
27.No other offers/vouchers can be used in conjunction with the specific prize.
28.If an advertised prize is not available, The Organiser reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
29.The Organiser reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
30.Any person found to be in disregard of the rules and these Terms and Conditions will be disqualified automatically.
31.Use of false names and addresses by a competition entrant will result in automatic disqualification.
32.The Organiser is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any materials relating to its promotions.
33.The Organiser will take no responsibility for defective goods or services provided by a participating promoter which are won as prizes.
